As the people with primary responsibility to raising their child, parents should be allowed the right to educate their children at home. First, since the government sets standards for all education, the parents would be held accountable for making sure their child receives at least a decent education. Secondly, parents should reserve the right to raise their children how they wish, deciding what sports they can play, what television they watch, or even what type of education they receive. This includes the right to refuse free public education in favor of home-based education. Thus, for reasons of personal rights within limits, parents should be allowed to home school their children.
