I was educated at a public school and had a great experience, so for this reason, I do not think that parents should be allowed to homeschool their children. The first basis of this argument, are the social aspects of school. Social skills are incredibly important in today’s day and age, and those would be very difficult to develop without having interaction with peers. Children need to learn how to make friends at a young age and if they are homeschooled they will only be around family. In addition to this, I think that schools give children a chance to learn how to take responsibility for themselves. From making sure they don’t lose their lunch money to knowing how to zip up their own jacket- these are responsibilities that kids will be faced with at school, away from their parents. For these reasons, I strongly disagree with homeschooling and I think it should be outlawed.
