I think it is important for children to learn to draw or paint for two reasons. First, if children are unable to draw, they may find it difficult to express themselves before they are able to write sentences. Their drawings and paintings can give insight into how they feel when they aren’t able to put it into words and they will gain confidence in this form of communication. Second, drawing and painting can help children fine motor skills. By holding on to the pen or paintbrush, they will strengthen their muscles in their fingers and wrists, which will be beneficial when they try to learn how to write. For these two reasons, and many more, I agree that it is important for children to learn to draw and paint.
