Even if a country has enough food to feed all its residents, they should still allow recreational hunting with limitations. To begin, hunting can be a good way to supplement a diet, especially in areas where access to a variety of foods is limited, such as in highly rural areas. Also, hunting is a way to help reduce certain populations of animals that have maybe become a nuisance through the absence of predators. For example, in some areas of the Rocky Mountains, the absence of wolves and mountain lions has created an excess of deer, which damage property and cause accidents in neighborhoods. Thus recreational hunting has both personal and social benefits and should be allowed.
