Reaching out to other family members while traveling seems unnecessary. Usually, when I travel, I am traveling with family. However, if I happen to be traveling alone, I only stay in touch with my immediate family. Traveling normally keeps me very busy, and I don’t have a lot of time to get in touch with family because I am so involved with the activities going on around me. I think it is important to be present and active where you are. If you are so focused on reaching out to family members, you don’t have the time to enjoy what you are doing. You can always take lots of pictures and share your adventures with your family once you return.
